The Oracle HCM Business Systems Analyst is part of a team Business System Analysts who are responsible for the management and system functions of the company’s Oracle HCM Cloud solution and for managing system changes, responding to business process changes, delivering functional specifications, configuration, testing, user manuals and training documentation and for providing business consultancy and system support.  Our team of BSA’s works collaboratively to support and improve our current HCM footprint which includes Core HR, Payroll and Benefits.  Initially this role will be focused on helping the team work through the backlog of projects, enhancements and issues in the Payroll area. This position works cross-functionally with other departments, technical consultants and vendors to automate and/or improve processes and eliminate inefficiencies.


This role has global responsibilities with potential travel of 25% expected once Covid restrictions permit.


  • Provide consulting support within their functional area of expertise while actively seeking ways to apply system technology to business processes. This includes research and identification of enabling functionality based on customer requirements. Incumbents in this position are challenged to develop and maintain credibility and effective working relations with leadership, business users, process owners and fellow team members in a way that demonstrates an understanding of business problems, as well as IT/IS strategies, issues, and priorities.
  • Participate in HCM implementation and rolling out of new modules (time and attendance, talent management, etc.). Play a lead role in gathering business requirements, system/integration testing and user acceptance testing, and training to end users
  • Provide expertise and recommendations for building reports and manipulating data using Business Intelligence software
  • Provide training and guidance to system end users. Oversee creation and/or updating of training and process documentation
  • Ensure company change management processes and project governance guidelines are adhered to and that high-quality documentation and training guides are a key deliverable for all initiatives
  • Forge relationships with the business. Communicate well and clearly, taking the time to understand user feedback and incorporate into recommendations and requirements
  • Demonstrate leadership and flexibility and the ability to effectively interface with various business users and managers. Consistently achieving consensus is a key attribute of the successful candidate


  • Bachelor's Degree in Information Management, Computer Science, or another business-related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years hands-on Oracle HCM experience
  • Experience with Oracle HCM Core HR, Payroll, Absence and Performance management
  • Oracle HCM Cloud certifications would be an asset
  • Minimum of 5 years experience as a Business System Analyst
  • Combined US and Canadian Human Resource experience
  • Broad Oracle HCM implementation experience
  • Organized and task oriented. Ability to work on multiple initiatives and projects concurrently ensuring that timelines are balanced with resource constraints and resulting deadlines are met
  • Solid technical knowledge and ability to express complex technical concepts in terms that are understandable to the business
  • Ability to understand the business needs and convert into clear and detailed requirements and specifications
  • Strong analytical and conceptual skills
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, including technical writing and developing business presentations and power user training materials
  • Ability to solve problems spanning multiple environments in a business area
  • Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate with all management levels and end user levels
  • Demonstrated competency in project planning and delivery
  • Ability to thrive in a somewhat unstructured hands-on environment that demands a consultative approach and solutions that span multiple inputs and competing requirements
