SUMMARY

 

The Senior Financial Analyst reports to the Manager, Financial Reporting and responsibilities include preparation of the quarterly financial statements, various technical accounting memos and analyses, month-end reporting and other responsibilities.

This position is out of our office in Concord, Ontario

Responsibilities

External Financial Reporting

  • Prepare quarterly financial statements in accordance with US GAAP
  • Facilitate external audits
  • Monitor and ensure timely identification and compliance with evolving accounting guidance, provide US GAAP interpretation and prepare technical memorandums that document issues in a clear, logical and comprehensive manner
  • Communicate and explain accounting issues and evolving accounting guidance to the management team

Internal Financial Reporting

  • Support month-end closing including review of reconciliations, support/analysis for certain schedules, etc.
  • Preparation of corporate monthly and quarterly reconciliations and continuity schedules
  • Financial Planning and Analysis deliverables
  • Data analysis and modelling at an enterprise level

Special Projects

  • Internal audit assistance

Qualifications

Required Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance/Accounting or equivalent
  • CPA required
  • Minimum 3 years of progressive work experience in financial planning, reporting and analysis
  • Advanced PC skills, specifically Advanced Excel (financial model building skills), Power BI, and data mining skills
  • ERP - SAP and JD Edward experience preferred
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to handle multiple tasks
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office, including fluency with Excel Pivot Tables, macros and function formulas
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Creative problem solver who is well organized, thrives on working in a fast-paced environment, takes initiative, ability to manage competing priorities
