General Summary

Continuous Improvement Coordinator will provide training, guidance and general direction in order to facilitate the growth of Continuous Improvement/Lean initiatives within all areas of the organization to include manufacturing, non-manufacturing and administrative work areas.  This position requires a person that is organized, detail oriented and able to both facilitate and drive change in a fast paced, "ever changing" environment by leveraging his/her strong interpersonal, professional and collaborative skills.

 

Responsibilities

  • Become proficient in core Lean concepts of 8 Waste, Root Cause Problem Solving, Value Stream Mapping, Demand and Capacity Planning, Process Flow Methodologies, 5S, Standardized Work, Kaizen, Set-up Reduction, Total Productive Maintenance, Pull Systems, Built-in-Quality, etc.
  • Train, facilitate and apply CI/Lean methodologies and tools in production and support areas.
  • Assist in the development of Continuous Improvement training materials and tool sets.
  • Drive the use of Continuous Improvement tools across KIK through the facilitation of structured kaizen events and continual engagement of employees at all levels.
  • Monitor, measure, valuate and document improvements made through the Continuous Improvement and Lean initiatives.
  • Improve data collection activities throughout the organization, analyze data collected and work with management to identify and address areas of unsatisfactory performance through effective Root Cause Problem Solving
  • Participate in internal Lean reviews and audits
  • Drive a “Visual Workplace” culture
  • Insure best practice sharing and communication and recognition of continuous improvement initiatives between the different KIK facilities
  • Develop, implement and assist in sustaining of the identified Standardized Work practices.

Qualifications

Minimum Education Requirements

  • High School Diploma / GED.

Experience Requirements

  • Experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and utilization of CI and Lean Principles
