    This position is located at KIK Rexdale.  KIK Rexdale manufactures branded label liquid personal care products and over the counter drug products.

     

    Position Summary:  Performs all duties related to destruction of scrap goods

    Responsibilities

    • Must be able to independently operate the shredder, baler and any other piece of equipment associated with the destruction of scrap goods.     Observe operation of equipment to ensure continuity of flow, safety and efficient operation, and to detect malfunctions.
    • Maintain a clean and safe work area at all times.  Comply with and enforce plant Safety Standards, Standard Operating Procedures, and all other plant policies.
    • Has the ability to perform preventative maintenance to the drum tipper, product hopper and screw conveyor on a regular and timely basis to prevent non-scheduled downtime.
    • Dislodge and clear jammed material or other items from machinery using hand tools.
    • Clean, adjusts and maintains all pieces of shredding equipment on a daily basis. Tend accessory equipment, such as sludge transfer pump.    Must consistently achieve shredder output numbers        
    • Notify supervisor or needed repairs
    • Keep accurate shredding records/logs
    • Assist in coordinating the delivery of goods to be shredded.

    Qualifications / Certifications:

    • Must maintain towmotor certification 
    • Able to stand, lift and carry consistently for 8 hours (and move 45-gallon drums from pallets)
    • Able to focus and visually concentrate for extended periods of time
    • Must be able to read, write and speak English.
    • Must work in accordance with all Health and Safety and GMP regulations


    Skills / Knowledge:  

    • Possibility of working with unpleasant odours.
    • Working in various temperature changes.
    • Possibility of working under conditions of high noise levels.
    • Interaction with a variety of chemical products
    • Regular work with moving machinery increases potential hazards.
