    SUMMARY:

     

    This position will be expected to direct and control the activities of 2 warehouses to ensure the efficiency and smooth operation of facilities for storing and distributing raw materials and finished goods inventories. This role will also step in as a backup production planner as needed to ensure the prompt delivery and accurate quantity of materials produced and ordered.

    Responsibilities

    • Provides supervisory direction for the warehouse personnel including personnel performance, staffing, training, and discipline within the department.
    • Coordinates all interplant shipments.
    • Oversees and ensures accurate inventories in order to meet customer demands
    • Ensure all warehouse related information are entered into all relevant systems (MRP, WMS).
    • Meet key customer service level measurements and data including on time shipment criteria, efficient loading times, accurate customer profiles, carrier performance issues
    • Maintains knowledge of and compliance with applicable government regulations (EPA, Labour standards, Ontario safety standards)
    • Implements and trains proper safety & shipping procedures and guidelines.      
    • Ensures compliance of plant GMPs, safety and all other published policies, procedures, rules and regulations.
    • Ensures all effective procedures are being adhered to in order to reduce and monitor material usage for all manufacturing orders.
    • Conduct and monitor cycle count inventories: review daily cycle counts by counting all locations while maintaining relevant documentation including physical adjustments.
    • Ensure month-end balances are accurate and decipher cut-off levels and timing.
    • Monitor and document scrap levels and obsolete materials
    • Manage trailer inventory; product to be held on trailers, product needing to be off-loaded for upcoming weekly production
    • Day-to-day co-ordination of materials to support manufacturing needs
    • Planning, ordering, monitoring inventory of raw components --- Chlorine, Caustic, Resin, corrugate, and PET bottles.
    • Create PO's, and oversee internal usages with both manufacturing departments.
    • Experience with C.N. and the ordering/movement of railcars.
    • Utilize warehouse management system to monitor and organize rework process, HOLD/QA process, mis-tags, data integrity, and product recalls.
    • Any other duties as assigned

    Qualifications

    • Must be proficient in MS Office applications, including Excel, Word and Outlook.
    • Must have excellent oral and written communication skills.
    • JD Edwards or other ERP applications that are equivalent.
    • EPA Border legislation experience
    • College degree or higher preferred.
    • APICS certification a definite asse
    • Production scheduling/planning experience
    • Maximum 3 -5 years warehouse experience required, preferably in manufacturing environment.
