Responsibilities

We are seeking a talented Project Coordinator for our automotive care division. The ideal candidate is a highly organized, detail oriented self-starter that has exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, who can strategically manage projects from ideation through realization.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage all project activities, planning, communications, and execution. 
  • Monitor tasks, milestones, and timelines to ensure projects stay on track. Clearly, concisely, and quickly communicate with cross-functional teams. Facilitate team meetings in-person, with conference calls, and/or web cast.
  • Manage customer expectations by effectively communicating the project status. Create status reports, project update information, and Stage Gate review presentations as required to update project status to sponsors/ stakeholders.
  • Assist in creating definition and management of project scope, resources, schedule, and risk from inception to launch for all assigned projects. 
  • Take ownership for results with your projects and other PMO lead initiatives and be proactive in the performance of assignments. Work with teams to develop valid conclusions and identify alternatives. Identify likely stakeholder responses to specific recommendations.
  • Link problems and symptoms to identify underlying issues and root causes.  Define issues clearly, approach problems from a systems perspective, and see connections, linkages, and interdependencies. Apply continuous learning to problem resolution within projects.
  • Identify and work through complex constraints across functional teams, challenge standard approaches and ideas to see if there is a better, more effective way.  Contribute to the delivery of training within the PMO and associated departments.  Collaborate on and execute initiatives to improve the processes, procedures, and tools utilized by the team.
  • With the continuous development and implementation of the PMO process, assist in training/coaching senior leadership within the category to ensure one voice, one common goal toward success.
  • Work side by side with Project Managers to provide support, exchange ideas, process improvements and back-fill when necessary.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in business administration, engineering, a hard science, or other related experience.
  • 3+ years comparable work experience
  • Job related exp.: Project Management, management consulting, stage gate experience 
  • Ability to negotiate persuasively; influence and shape the decisions of others.
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Organizational and time management skills
  • Cross-functional team leadership skills, ability to collaborate
  • Solid computer skills, including basic MS Office applications such as MS Word, Excel, Power Point, Access, and Project
  • Travel expectation – 25% or less
